It takes a community to raise a child
Transform Schools recently organised for Year 6 pupils to work with local artist, Claire Walker, to create a large mural at the entrance to Coleridge Primary School. The pupils and members of the Coleridge Parent’s Group keenly assisted Claire with the design, which incorporates an image of children around the world with the words ‘Hello’ and ‘Welcome’ in a number of languages spoken by the pupils.
Headteacher, Michelle Binns, is delighted with the finished mural
“This project encapsulates the spirit of the school where all origins are celebrated to enrich the learning environment and has been an opportunity to work in partnership with parents. This further strengthens our belief ‘It takes a community to raise a child’.”
