Kombat Girls Transform Stoke!

Four day dance workshop devised by Transform Stoke is a partnerships success.

The culmination of a four day workshop with Britain’s Got Talent finalists the KOMBAT BREAKERS was a huge hit. Five girls, now dubbed “the Kombat Girls” took to the stage at Haywood High School in Burslem, Stoke and performed their break dance routine to a large invited audience.

The workshops were open to young women 13 -19 who were at risk of educational and social exclusion, helping them to learn new skills and develop a higher level personal achievement. The feedback from the participants, workers and partners has been very positive and the project was overwhelmingly successful.

Discussions are taking place with the partners on utilising the success of the workshops to widen participation across Stoke.

The workshops were devised by Transform schools Stoke as part of their ongoing regeneration work and was funded and developed in partnership with Stoke City Council, Transform schools and Balfour Beatty Workplace.
