Quite an achievement! As an example of this, over 91% of potential waste from Tuxford Comprehensive School was diverted from landfill, earlier this year. In five days, over 2,000 pieces of loose furniture and equipment was dismantled and sorted by EfA, equating to 34.99 tonnes or 15 bulk containers of potential landfill. Also 95% of St Giles Special School’s furniture was salvaged by EfA.
Then, in April, the headteacher of St Giles Special School, Cate Kirk, followed the trail of her furniture all the way to the Eastern Cape of South Africa! The recipient, St Patrick’s Special Needs School in Ginsberg, King Williams Town, were so grateful to receive 98 student desks and 518 plastic student chairs.
