Royal visitors in Rotherham

October 2008 saw the official opening of both new Maltby Crags Schools in Rotherham.

Transform Schools Rotherham were delighted that HRH The Duke of York was able to undertake the opening of both schools.

The Royal Party arrived by helicopter, landing on the school field and was greeted by hundreds of school children waving Union flags.  Following introductions to key people from the area, including the Lord Lieutenant and the High Sheriff of South Yorkshire, Rotherham Council and Transform Schools, Prince Andrew was taken on a tour of both schools meeting children from the Foundation Unit, Infants and Juniors.

The official opening ceremony was undertaken and Prince Andrew spoke to the students for 10 minutes on the benefits of working hard and doing their homework on time as well as keeping their schools in such good condition.

The day was a fabulous success and one not to be forgotten for the people of Rotherham.

New wave new name

As of August 2008 Balfour Beatty will be bidding for BSF projects under the name of Balfour Beatty Education. This name change is due to a more integrated approach between Balfour Beatty operating companies. Bids already underway and existing concessions will remain under the Transform brand.
