Facilities management
Balfour Beatty WorkPlace (formerly known as Haden Building Management) provides facilities management services for all Transform Schools concessions when required by the contractual agreement. Balfour Beatty WorkPlace undertake all planned maintenance and reactive maintenance operations to all schools within a project as well as operating the help desk facility.
Depending on the scope of a contract some of the existing council employees (such as caretakers) are transferred over to work for Balfour Beatty WorkPlace under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (TUPE). Our extensive experience of TUPE transfers means non-teaching staff can be transferred smoothly and effectively.
In Scotland, our school concessions are fully compliant with the Scottish Trade Union Congress Public Private Partnership Protocol.

Construction
Certified since 2005, we operate OHSAS 18001 safety management systems that are certified by DNV, and subject to bi-annual certification audit as part of the Balfour Beatty Group Audit Protocol.
Transform Schools has significant experience of constructing on existing, active school sites. The safety of children learning, playing or living in proximity to any building works being carried out by Transform Schools is of the highest priority.
