Summary


Transform Schools (Birmingham), the concession company awarded the 30-year, £80 million PFI contract to design and build 12 schools in Birmingham. The project reached financial close in March 2006.
Balfour Beatty's shareholding is 50%. Our 50% shareholder partner is Innisfree PFI Fund 3. The committed investment total is £4 million, which will be injected after completion of construction in 2009.


Project overview

  • Construction of:
    9 new primary schools
    2 new secondary schools
    1 new early years centre
  • The hard and soft facilities management work to a value approaching £50 million will be undertaken by Balfour Beatty WorkPlace.
  • Construction work was undertaken by Balfour Beatty Construction and Balfour Kilpatrick (now known as Balfour Beatty Engineering Services)..
